Megan Cope lived for 10 years. The only sentence she could speak was “I’m Megan!”, but yet, she impacted the lives of all who knew her. When she passed away, her family and friends went through a dark period. This book is written by Megan’s father and chronicles their journey of coping with loss and how a little girl taught them lessons about life. When people look at Megan, they see a mentally disabled girl. But God used this mentally disabled girl to teach what even the best scholars could not teach.
Megan’s Secrets is both a beautiful memoir and an inspirational book. Stories from Megan’s life is interposed with lessons the Cope family learned after her death. Megan is the child most people would overlook. Anyone who sees her would view and classify her as the retarded child. But this book shows us that the lowest in society can teach the smartest precious lessons. The stories of Megan’s life will touch the book’s reader. As I read them, I found myself wishing that I know this adorable little girl. She lived for 10 years and spent her last few years being sick most of the time, but she brightened and blessed the life of others.
